20 gauge enough gun?

i'm looking at getting a new shotgun a 20 gauge pardner youth with the 22" barrel and screw in choke. mostly it would be a kickin around kinda gun but i also hunt coyotes and turkey so would the 20 gauge work for turkeys and coyotes no further than 40 yards? i really like the idea of the 20 gauge and i think this one would be perfect but before i tell my wife (its a present) i need to know. sorry if this has been covered before

a 20 gauge with a full choke and the proper loads would work great for Turkeys and coyotes, but I might keep the shots a little closer unless you pattern the gun and it shoots well at that distance, it's more the way a gun patterns and if you can center that pattern on the target at a certain distance rather than the gauge. Very similar ro missing with a magnum ar hitting the target with a regular rifle...<><.... :)

I would agree with everything MSP Ret says and add that you might consider seeing what kind of group you can get with slugs with a mod or ic choke tube to extend that range for the yotes.
