How to rebarrel a lever?
« on: January 31, 2007, 04:43:10 PM »
Is there something to know about installing a factory barrel to a factory receiver that is not so obvious?
I am talking about a Marlin model 1895 in particular...It seems as tough a factory barrel should just screw onto an action...I know it can't be that easy.
Will someone in the know please enlighten the rest of us about the details involved?.It would make for some interesting reading.

Its not that simple .. I am not a smith, but from what the experts have said.. you need to have gages and stuff to set it to spec .. not something to play with..  you  could get lucky and be ok, or you could make mistake and hurt/ kill or injure others in the process..    Personally I would have the manufacture do it..  or it would have to be competent smith that has and uses all the correct tools and gages..
