Briley full size inserts
« on: January 10, 2007, 04:29:58 PM »
I have a Beretta 12 gauge silver pigeon II o/u with 30" barrels. I was looking to purchase Briley ultra lite 20 gauge full size inserts. Has anyone had any experience with these inserts: performance, ejection, loading and over all performance??

I have a citori, w/ 28ga companion tubes, and I have shot about 3 boxes throught them. I put several wraps of black tape around the muzzle to make them fit the barrel tighter. Also, somewhere in the middle of the 2nd box the ejector on the gun ejected the whole tube, leaving the empty stuck in the insert. I removed the insert complety, popped the empty out, pushed the insert back in, and resumed shooting, w/o any more trouble. I have since put one more wrap of black tape around the insert, but haven't shot them since.
Other than the one mishap, they performed excellent, (at hand thrown clays). I haven't patterned them. I do like them, and look forward to shooting them more.

If you're talking about the Briley full length tubes then yes I have experience with them. My Krieghoff is fitted with them in 20, 28 and .410. No problems with them, they work just fine. Most all the top shooters in the country use them.
