Couple of boys that sport ride here have them.  The bikes are fine but the gps is over priced.  It seems to be about a $400 option yet you can buy a comparable gps unit in a hand held version for under $100 and a handlebar mount for $20.  If damaged, repairs or replacement I'm sure won't be cheap but you could pick up another hand held for another $100.

My buddy has the GPS on his, but he is dumb and can't figure it out  :)  :)
Seriously, I WOULD NOT buy the GPS version for xtra $$$, but if UI got it for the same $$$$ I'd take it. I've heard some dealers selling that way to get rid of them. The GPS is not an advanced unit. You can buy much better over the counter, but it's not built in. So your choice

I have one of the Rancher AT's with GPS and so far it works pretty good though it is rather confusing in the beginning. I would not have bought the GPS but then I didn't actually get to pick the quad, my wife bought it back in March without my knowing and pulled the old "lets go look at quads" routine and had the dealer hand me the keys when I got there. Pretty cool I thought, she bought it because "I deserved it"...  Yes, I plan on keeping her!! :grin:

To me the problem is not in the GPS it's in the bike. Most of the GPS units I believe went to the 400AT. The only problem with this bike is that with the car like tranny and no low range it is seriously underpowered on low end.

That's odd, I don't see any lack of low end power and the trans has been proven in the Rincon.

If you were going to ride trails all the time I suppose the auto that Honda offers would be fine. I would not say that it was proven that great on the Honda Rincon though. I have rode with many of them and they have trouble pushing any size tire bigger than stock and that is a 650. In the 650 class the Rinny is completely outmatched.

I did not care for the feel or the power of the Rincon transmission. Going up hills it’s often “searching” for the right gear and in the mud it’s less than impressive. The Rincon does not do all the great in water either from the factory. Also as the Rincon’s are getting older I am hearing a lot of people complaining about the transmission taking long and long to get warmed up.

Go out and drive a Rincon and then drive another brands 650 and you can tell the difference. I am not saying this is a bad thing as the Rincon and 400AT are good trail bikes which is what the intention of Honda was for these bikes, but if you are looking for a mud bike neither of these has the power for it.

I like the Honda’s but I think some of their bikes are more oriented toward trail riding than anything else.

Also if you have a 400AT and didn’t know about it there is a recall on the CDI unit. They say it gets more power after the fix.
