That's the understatement of the year so far...  It was so wet Saturday that me and the guys I was with came in from the field twice just to put our clothes in the dryer.   ::)  We did see birds though.  We saw twelve on Saturday, 2 jakes, 4 hens, and 6 toms.  They weren't talking at all, nor would they respond to calls, except for the jakes.  And the toms wanted nothing to do with the hens either.  We basically had to still hunt to find the birds.  My buddies' dad ended up busting a jake, as it was the first bird he'd ever called in.  Saw 3 deer and 3 coyotes too.  The coyotes didn't get close enough to catch a load of shot though.  Oh well.....

kyelkhunter

that sounds a lot like my weekend.  I saw a lot of birds, but only had two that would respond to calls of any kind.  One stupid mistake, and they were gone.  I guess that is turkey hunting.  I ended up basically still hunting as well down in a creek bottom to stay out of the wind.  Hopefully this weekend will be better.
