It's driving me crazy.  My birds are full into the mating/strutting mode, they wake me up everymorning, and it is driving me crazy.

WENT THIS MORNING THE BUGS WERE AWFUL.....WHEN DAYLIGHT HIT THE TREE TOPS I LOOKED UP AND SEEN 10 TURKEYS IN THE TREES ABOVE ME. ALL WERE HENS THOUGH. I DIDN'T HERE ANY GOBBLES UNTIL 6:45 AND THEY WERE A MILE AWAY. SO I SAT THERE AND WATCHED THE HENS PITCH DOWN,THAT WAS A PRETTY SITE.I WONDERED WHY THERE WAS NOT A GOGGLER CLOSE BY.THEN IT HIT ME.THOSE HENS WERE MOVING AWAY FROM ME AND THOSE GOBBLIN BIRDS.I FIGURED THAT THE DOMINATE BIRD WAS DOWN IN THE BOTTOM STRUTTING NOT GOBBLIN.SO IN THE MORNING?????????WELL YALL WILL FIND OUT! MAYBE I CAN GET HIM,AFTER ALL 10 HENS ARE NOT BY THERE SELVES THIS TIME OF YEAR!!!!!

The season has been going two weekends here now.  The second weekend I heard about as much gobbling as I heard before 8am the first weekend.   We shot a few, but maybe the wind increase stopped them too, I don't know?

Nope, not hearing anything at all.  But then we don't have any turkeys in Alaska except the state capital.

I miss sitting in a blind and than all of a sudden within 50 yards ole Tom shakes you awake.  Good hunting guys!

Here in southern Ohio the toms have been hammering away for the last two weeks. I had one so workrd up I thought for sure that I would be having a turkey dinner. He paced back and forth up on top of the ridge , but wouldn't come down. I can't go out again until the weekend, but I will make sure I'm up on top of that ridge before that tom is. Good luck to all. varmit-master, woke up this morning to birds singing, kids argueing, and yes, turkey's still gobbling their heads off. I live right on the edge of a national forest (Wayne) and I'm always seeing and hearing critters on the ridge above the house. My wife is in oklahoma, so I can't get out until than, but she should be home this afternoon. My cousin and I will be going out in the morning if everything works out ok. We are supposed to be getting some rain today, but tomorrow is supposed to be clear. Keeping my fingers crossed. Got to go, got 5 kids to get off to school. Boy does my wife owe me! Later, Worm.

varmit-master, our season didn't start until the 28th of April, so the birds haven't had the pressure put on them to much. this weekend will most likely be the last really vocal time for the toms. Once people start trying to call them from all over the place they will shut up and start sneaking in. Of course the morals will start popping and that will get the sroom hunters running all over the woods. We have just now started getting some good soaking rains to help the srooms come up. Can't hardly wait to have a good turkey dinner with moral mushroom stuffing. :-)  I just hope I don't have to go kroegering to get it. LOL
