New 375 Ruger

The  375 Ruger case looks like a wildcatters dream. Could you not neck it down to the bore of a standard length belted magnum and a very easy rechamber and have better velocity and potentially better accuragy and reliability?

Having better reliability would be questionable.  Cases with almost no taper and a sharp shoulder traditionally have had feeding/chambering problems.  Apparently Ruger does not feel this is an issue, but clearly there would not be a reliability improvement over a case with a gentle shoulder and more body taper.

I had in mind the rimless vs. belted or rimmed case head configurations. You are right about the shoulder configuration.

Since when has a belted case had a reliability problem? BTW, that Ruger case looks an awful lot like a shortened 8X68S case. I guess old Charles Newton had it figured out 100 years ago! I do agree that it ought to work well, but so does a 375-338 Win Mag. But it doesn't say Ruger on it.
