22-6mm Remington
« on: January 31, 2007, 05:07:36 PM »
I am thinking of putting together a rifle in  22-6mm Remington and was wondering if anyone here has any load data for this wildcat cartridge?

Why do you want to burn out that barrel? I do know that this caliber requires special bullets. Regularly available bullets tend to explode when shot at the velocities this round can reach. Lower powder charges result in poor ignition and erreatic accuracy. with modern steels the barrel SHOULD last around 1000 to 1500 shots. If you get a longer than normal barrel you can cut the chamber off and rechamber it a few times. I believe it is similar to the 230 ackley magnum. The 230 Mag was based on the 30-06 case I think.

not many will be interested in this round only because they don't realize it's potential.
