I want to reload 150 grain accubonds for the 308 win. Since it does not have a crimping grove do you need to crimp or not. I have RCBS loading dies and have read you can not crimp a bullet if it does not have crimping groves.

I would not put a crimp on a bullet without a cannelure.

The lee Factory crimp dies for rifle and bottleneck pistol cartridges will crimp even without a cannelure.

Whether you should or not is a different question...

NO! Don't crimp bullets without a cannelure. :)

I tried crimping Ballistic tips and Hornady Interbonds with the Lee Factory Crimp Die without much luck. I switched to a Hornady SST which has a canelure. A crimp into the canelure of that bullet improved the groupings of every load I tried with that bullet. I will omly crimp with the Lee crimper. It gives you far more control than useing a bullet seating die.  You can certainly try crimping bullets without a canelure but be careful as a crimp will almost always raise pressure at least slightly.
