I do notice that the front sight is pretty high. When I shoulder the rifle, I have to put one heck of a cheek weld on the thing, much harder than my Marlin Model 60, to get just the tip of the front sight showing. So I figure its either the front sight being too high, or the synthetic stock being a bit different than the wood. Actually yall, I think I figured out my "bent sight problem", lol. When me and my buddy tapped the rear sight base over, we tapped it too far, thus makeing the base seem like it was maybe bent, lol. I just corrected it, and she looks straight as an arrow now.
