F A Q and Hello
« on: February 02, 2007, 04:36:13 AM »
Wow, what a great forum you have here. I have been lurking for a while but I thought I would sign up and say thank to the Mods for such a well-run board.   I became interested in the sport after going to the Canon shoot in Mayer, Minn. (I left home along time ago, don’t even know if this still goes on). I then first started making cannons in the late 70’s in H.S. shop class, I have a feeling that this would not be something that goes on now, but have been out of it  for a very long time. I do know that a few are still being used by some of my old friend’s back in Minnesota.
After reading the forum I do have a few Questions that I hope that can be answered. Numerous time and in different threads I have seen mentioned the following: a FAQ section, a section with plans, a how to build section, a safety section and last but not least a sticky section of posts that stay at the top. Have they been deleted or maybe I just have not looked in the right place. Any help would be appreciated.
Although I know that I will not be able to be building or buying for a time  (the Country I live in at this time is very up-tight about this kind of stuff) It still is nice to read up on what is going on with this sport.
Thanks again.

B-MAN -

WELCOME to the board!

You'll find a half-dozen or so 'stickies' at the top of the forum's lising of the threads - they look just the same, only the symbol is a LITTLE different and they stay at the top.  They occur in the sequence of last edited on the top and progress downward to the regular threads (which also are listed in last-added-to first and progress on down).

What are you interested in building/shooting?  Mortar - cannon - style - range ?

By all means, welcome. I've been suffering "brown out on my wireless" so have been up and down for the past month or so.

All the permanent info is still at the top of the page, the "stickies".

Thanks for the welcome; I don’t get a lot of time on the computer so sorry for the slow reply. I could have given myself a good kicking when I saw the posts at the top. Oh well, live and learn. As I said in the first post I am now living in a country (Luxembourg) that is at times, VERY UPTIGHT about things like this. So no real chance to get back into the fun for now.

By the way does any one know if the Canon shoot in Mayer, Minnesota is still going on?

Thanks for your time and take care

I looks like Mayer is just West of Minneapolis.

Here's a link to the town's website (send them an email):
