adding weight to stock?

i have a stoeger 2000 that shoots great, but it's very light and kicks like ----! i have heard about adding weight to the hollow plastic stock.any thoughts? what would work, or does it really help? thanks

Well, with a heavier stock and the same amount of energy, there is going to be less speed, so you get more of a push than a snap coming back at you.  It would take a couple of lbs of weight to actually make a noticeable difference.  I personally think that changing the weight really isnt worth it, just shoot a lighter load.
