My wife bought me the 209x50 ML barrel for my Encore for Christmas. It has the 1:28 twist. Will it shoot heavy conical bullets ok at this twist rate? My son inherited my TC Greyhawk in 54 cal with a 1:48. That shot my hand cast 430-grain TC Maxiballs great out to 100 yards. Sabots are not allowed in Colorado for hunting so I’m leaning toward the Hornady Great Plains and the Powerbelts. From what I have read on these forums Powerbelts are not that great at higher velocities. TC literature states the 1:28 is for sabots and conicals. It seems the 1:28 would be to fast for a 400-500 grain conical. Any comments would be appreciated.
