Bought me a new pistol today.
« on: March 05, 2007, 11:38:19 AM »
I recently bought a glock 21  .45   but it hurts my neck to shoot it( bad disc disease in my neck)  after reading these forums i sold my Gock and bought a brand new

Smith and Wesson 22A-1 with a Truglo Dot sight.  I also bought a Marlin 22 bolt action rifle, all New in box.

I shoot everyday, and was wondering what you folks thought of the pistol for shooting and maybe killing some squirrels and such.

I do hope i got a decent pistol lol.

 Thanks again

Have some fun and test both. I suspect that the S&W with a scope may be a lot closer in accuracy to the rifle than you may suspect. If that is the case, then what you have is a “pocket rifle” that is fully capable of taking small targets if you are capable of getting it done. I find that my Ruger MK II Comp with a cheap red dot scope is easily capable of less than 1” groups at 25 yds, but hitting tin cans at 50 yds offhand is a low probability occurrence. I would need some kind of rest to maximize the capability of this gun.

Spend some time finding the ammo it likes best.  My 22A is more consistent with standard velocity ammo.  With a red dot, you will do very well with the pistol.

Scott, I can understand you selling a .45 and getting a .22.  They are much more fun to shoot.  My ears are still ringing from shooting my .45 last.  I forgot my plugs.  I think you will really like those guns.
