Are you guys getting replacement wood forends from H&R?  Brownell's or something?  I wish brownells had pix.  What gives?  Anyway.  Still on the quest.  Wouldn't mind giving wood a whurl on the 30-06.   I swear I saw them somewhere for like $15.  Bad memory though.:-[THNX

And to add to that, the synthetic offerings Midway has some of the best prices on them:
http://www.midwayusa.com/ebrowse.exe/browse?TabID=9&Categoryid=11436&categorystring=10636***10560***

And if you looking for a wood forearm and don't want to pay shipping and all, then why not place an Ad in the NEF/H&R classifieds? Shouldn't be too hard to find a used wood forearm, as it's lively with a lot of traffic...

Gunstocks Inc. seems backedup....ordered on line when they reopened their website (who closes a website for christmas?)  and after asking for status on my order they answered back with a somewhat terse response that my stocks (monte carlo laminate timber camo) was not in stock and had not been shipped.

I do alot of ordering online..I should never have to ASK what the status is on an order...GSI could really take a lesson from Brownells, and MIDWAY and Gun Parts Corp....

anyway I still do not know whats going on with them right now..they have not charged my card nor do I have recent status..

Received my Stock and forend..very nice..timber camo.... They are not finished but damn near and will only require a little light sanding and finish to get them ready..I would recommend the vendor (they are a host here) I just prefer a little more info on order status from suppliers..otherwise, I have not complaints....

Tackleberry

Most of the people that have gotten stocks from them have been very pleased , as for shutting down over CHRISTmas they may have been up-dating the site , not sure . mostly it seems that you are happy with the stocks and that is what matters  .  :)

Tackleberry,

I personally visited the Gunstocks ,INC shop about a year ago.

It is LITTERALLY a one man shop.

Ed Perkins makes the stocks and his wife sometimes helps out with orders, etc.

They are honest, hard working people.

Ed stays VERY busy. If you want big company customer service ,then deal with a big company.

Gunstocks is a Mom and Pop.The time they would have spent needlessly "updating" you on order status was better served making your stocks..

What exactly DID your order from Guntocks etc?
A set of stocks or a gauranteed temporary internet penpal ??
IMHO, You got EXACTLY what you paid for- a set of nice gunstocks.
