Bisley accuracy?
« on: February 22, 2007, 09:39:18 AM »
I'm considering using Ruger Bisleys (.22 and .45) for not-to-serious target shooting but I'm wondering if they are reasonably accurate for that purpose?

I have two Old Model Vaqueros but have not used an adjustable sight gun to any extent and no Rugers.

Can anyone comment on expected groups at 25 and 50 yards?

Thank you.

All depends on the shooter.  ;)  Seriously, the Bisleys are indentical to the Blackhawk/Single Six models with the exception of the grip frame, hammer and trigger.  It was origianlly design as more of a target design but is now considered more useful for the heavier recoiling cartridges as it allows more comfortable roll in theose situations.  It does allow a bit better grip than the typical plowhandle design.  With the favored loading and the shooter doing thier part, they, like the standard Ruger SA's can be very good shooters.
