How much for brown laminate stock set?
« on: February 14, 2007, 10:23:15 AM »
Kinda curious if these can be purchased from the factory and what is the cost. If it is the FAQ then I missed it. Thanks

Any ideas on what the going rate used for a rifle with this stock set would be? Any opinions welcome!

It's in the FAQs under 2005 Retail Parts Price list, but they only list uncheckered, checkered are $103 shipped, IIRC, if you want the resin lams.

Don't confuse the brown laminate with the plain brown stocks made up of laminations that H&R/NEF used on the guns for a while instead of pallet wood, they are much different and less valued. Some here, myself included, prefer the regular pallet wood to those since the pallet wood stocks can be refinished to look much better than the cheaper "plywood" brown stocks. That may be a term we can use to diferentiate the stocks, Walnut, Laminated, Palletwood, Plywood. There has been some confusion over these stocks in the past and they have never really had a name. The Laminated are actually resin impregnated, bonded and finished, the cheaper are just layers of wood glued together with finish sprayed on....<><.... :)
