Ruger tang safety trigger problem

A rather new actuation to me is a used Ruger 77 tang safety in 220 swift. I shot about 100 rounds of factory rounds last fall when it was 60F temp out side. Yesterday I was shooting some hand loads (3509fps) the temp was 25F. After about 15 rounds loaded one at a time the trigger stopped working felt like it locked up. After running the bolt several times it started working again. Five rounds latter it locked up again and would not work till I brought it back into my shop and sprayed it down with some dri slide. It then worked fine with my snap caps. But I didn't have the time to go shoot it again yet.
I'm wondering if the triggers on Rugers are temp senstive and if any wet type of lube is used they freeze?

I read to post here about the triggers on MkIIs but don't know if mine would be the same.
Mine does have what appears to be a set screw in the trigger its self.
Guess I should  get a picture.

Ruger uses a very simple trigger.
I would guess it was the lube

Never had a problem with a Ruger trigger.  I give mine a polish job and reassemble with a touch of silicone grease.  Then I shoot them in temps ranging from below zero to around 100.

Appears the set screw on the trigger is factory on the 220 swift.




I looked at my dads 77 -243 tang safety he bought new and it has the same set screw.


Well I'll try it again and if it locks up again I'll have a smith look at it.
I do like the rifle a lot.

100yds 25F cross wind gusting 22MPH. I think the wind got me.

Ruger USED to use adjustable triggers.
Not sure about the M77 but Moyers makes a copy of the original trigger for the No.1 that can be installed on a new No.1 and adjusted
