When you get up to 200+ grains of bullet weight aren't you getting into bullets that were designed for the 8Rem Mag????  And might be a bit too hard for use in a 8x57???  Does someone have any field experience to input?
I use 175gr Sierra's in my 8x57.
I have read that one of the reasons for the 8mag poor showing was the original lack of bullets stout enough to handle the velocity.  (that plus mine would kick the snot out of you  :) )

I can tell you that the 200 grain Nosler partitions will open up at 8x57 velocities and hold together well enough for magnum velocities.  At the lower V the nose blows open, BUT the partition is still there to give deep penetration even at magnum V..

I've used them on moose, bear and deer all the way on down to coyotes and i'm very happy with there performance...
