What to do now with this 1894FG!

I traded a gun for a Marlin 1894FG a few weeks ago.  My plan was to keep it till about mid summer and then sell it since they are not making them in 2006.  This one looked way better than the one I had last year that was not a speciman of fine workmanship and it did jam pretty regular.  Off I go to the range today, figure I might as well put 5-10 rounds through it, how much could that hurt the value.  Ignoring the first shot feeling the gun out, I then shot a five shot group at 50 yards that were all touching.

This one was already smoother and better looking than my other one that I sold and now it has to be a good shooter too.  All my other guns in the safe keep asking it to stay, but that was not my plan.  Maybe if all my other guns keep begging me to let it stay I will give in.

You made my day!  I just ordered a new 1894FG and sent the money yesterday.  I've never been a big fan of 44's, especially once I traded a 44 for my tackdriver 8" Dan Wesson 357 ~20 years ago.  A friend and I both like the ballistics of the 41, we're both looking for revolvers and we're going to start loading it.  This is the first post I found where someone commented on the FG and was precisely what I was hoping to hear.  Should be here in a week or so (drools)!!

Yep I still have my FG.  Put a scope on it and it is shooting great.  Marlin put them back in the catalog this year.  Seems strange they took them out for a year and then brought them back.

Mine also has a new role in life.  Indiana has always been a slug gun only state but it looks like they are going to allow rifles in pistol calibers next year.  This FG will finally get to shoot something other than paper.

I've been hearing that.  I live in Ky but work in In.  If I'm lucky my gun will show up in the morning, otherwise the first of the week.  I'm getting reloading equipment set up now, should be ready to do some serious shooting once it warms up some.  Your comment about the 41 being questionable in production is the reason why I decided to get the FG.  I was debating on whether to get the 41 or a 357 first, and I decided to get a 41 while they were available.  The 357 will always be, maybe on backorder but will continue to be produced and there are a lot more used ones.  The 41 could disappear tomorrow and I bet the majority of guys who have them will keep them.
