The Lapeer County, MI Sheriff's office is selling their M-16 rifle. They have not had a budget increase in six years and are strapped for cash, so the weapon, which has only been used for practice, is up for sale. It is in excellent condition. It was purchased for $500 in 1970, so it is not covered by the 1986 law banning sales of automatic weapons. The winning bidder must have a license that allows him to purchase automatic weapons.
