Dallas Area Huntrs Pistol?
« on: January 31, 2007, 12:58:21 PM »
Is there any place around Dallas to shoot hunters pistol?  I have an  8 3/8 S&W in 357 that I think would work pretty good.   Can I change the open sights without going into unlimited?  It seems like it could be a lot of fun.

Thanks,

Craig

Go to IHMSA.org        They have schedules for all clubs all year.  They call it Field Pistol, main difference is chickens are 25 yds instead of 40 as in NRA.  Looks like the closest IHMSA club to you is Sweetwater.  They shoot the first Saturday.  Contact Richard Porter.  325-235-5759  I shoot Hunters Pistol and cowboy lever-action rifle at Robert Lee, but that is probably a little far for you.  It's on the first Saturday also.  Contact Richard Johnson, 325-453-2031.  Oklahoma City has IHMSA matches, probably all disciplines.  You can change the sights as long as they are made for that particular gun.

Try Haltom City Rifle & Pistol Club over in Fort Worth area.  Located inside 820 loop on 121 off Minnis Drive.  Shoot hunter's pistol first Saturday of month.  Fun shoot (.22LR only...any gun) third Saturday.  Matches start 9:30, practice open 8am.  Usually have a group of 10-30 show, depending on weather, temp, moon, hunting, etc.  Come shoot with us !
