Rockcreek BBLs 5R
« on: March 10, 2007, 05:07:14 AM »
Sent my Cooper Classic back to Rock Creek BBLs. Its chambered in 22-250AI I'm having them install a 1 in 8 twist 27" cut rifled 5R BBL on it.  They then sent rifle to a well trusted Gun smith to install their BBL on it. They only like to work on Rem 700s . Our Rem700 easy to work on? Whats the problem with putting a Barrel on a Cooper Classic?  What does everybidy think of "Cut Rifled " bbls? Rock Creek said I can expect maybe a 2% increase in MV.

It would sure take a lot of rounds to generate a statistically significant enough universe aof data to even find that small an improvement in velocity. Perhaps they were just veing cynical?? I like cut rifled barrels but they are getting harder to find as new and faster techniqes take over..
