Hi,

Anyone have good or bad experiences with various brands of cappers when used on 1858 Remington revolver?

The way the Remington cap well is cut, only the thinnest inline cappers will work.  Many shooteres open up the well notches with a mill or Dremel to make more space for the capper nose....

I saw several postings about that. I was hoping that there was a capper that actually is known to work without cutting metal.

Rick;

I just responded on another post about cappers. Removing metal is the solution. Open up the capping slot with a Dremel.
