Here's my preliminary design.  Firecracker caliber.  May need to slightly adjust bore diameter to fit 1-1/4 x 1/4" firecrackers.

CW,  Neat design,  should set real nicely on the desk  or TV,  or on a book shelf.  And will shoot also.  If I get some time I may join the contest. I have plenty of my own steel, I'll just follow your deminisons on the sizes if that is permissable.  Perhaps a Navel Cannon.

Rick -  that's one of the purposes of doing this!  I'm sure you can improve on the dimensions, and I may tweek them once I build it - but it did look good in 3d rendered modeling.

Ah, but Rick  one of the points of the contest is that you must use at least one piece steel from us in the cannon you build. We aren't say how you have to use teh steel, you just have use it.

I modified that just a whisker -  to allow one to use a piece of the same size as mine - that keeps up with the spirit of the law anyway and saves postage.

Here's the first step.  It'll be next week before I can get back at it though.
It's rough cut, major portion is 7/8" dia and it's 4-1/3" long now.
I'll cut the bore and maybe even ream it.
