Morning Gents! Just picked up a new CZ 452 standard in 22mag. Love the looks and feel of this gun!!! :grin: I have a question, when I went to clean the bore I found a whole lot of junk and lots of BROWN. At first thought - I think its the grease they use. There appears to be no actual rust or pitting the bore appears bright and shiney but I'm still getting brown cr^% out of the barrel will keep working on it with Hoppes #9. have not had a chance to shoot it yet. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks Old Moss

Probably burnt powdert reside, they shoot them before they send them out and don't clean them, Mine was the same way I have the long barreled Ultra Lux and have no problems with it at all, Did you know you can get ten round clips for them also, I have a couple of them they are plastic but they feed real well.

I found the same brown greasy stuff in my 452 22wmr Lux. I don't think it's rust, must be something like cosmoline. It took several cleanings before it was gone. Isn't there a product for removing cosmoline? Just give it a standard cleaning then shoot it. Gotta love those CZ's!

:grin: Thanks, Thats what I figured. Here's my next dilema. I bought a nice set of rings - medium. Went to put the scope on and that well liked rear sight that cz uses would not let the scope with a 40mm bell seat in the rings. How are you'll mounting your scopes? I like my scopes mounted as low as possible. Thanks for the help. Old Moss :?

I had to take the rear sight off, but I put it back and took the scope off the rifle is more fun to shoot with those sweet factory sights.

I use a Leupold 4X rimfire special with Millet split rings, low. I chose that scope for its small size, exellent optics. It fits behind the rear sight. The CZ's have such good sights that I'm not taking them off, and I hate high mounts. It will shoot 1" groups at 100 yards so I see no need for a larger scope.
