anybody knows where I can find a laminate manlicher style forestock (and of course matching laminate butt)? I am building up a kit to bring with me to South Africa this year. Going to bring .223, .308, and .444 (If the barrels are available and I can work up a good load for it).

I've owned several but they have all been the plain pallet-wood. I don't think they were offered in any laminate.

The last couple I had came directly from NEF. Give them a call and ask if they are still available.

It "might" vary depending on where on the African continent you go but from what I recall of JJHack's post on the Hunting in Africa forum most all countries there consider the BARREL not the frame the gun and most only allow two to be brought in for hunting. So your plans to take three barrels is likely to get you in trouble down there. Make darn sure it isn't going to long before you leave headed that way. Jim hunts in SA and definitely says this applies there. They are even getting to the point of requiring a serial number on the barrel. He has already had his put on all his gun's barrels to be legal and is suggesting others coming there to do the same.

The way laws are here in the US is NOT the way they are world wide.

You are right about each barrel being counted as a rifle, however you are allowed to bring three into South Africa. I go there every year to visit my wifes family (I got married in Capetown), but the last two years brought big bore airguns on special permit. This year I'll be there for six weeks and am doing two one week hunts, one with air and one with firearms. Of all the places I've hunted around the world, getting down to my friends property on the Eastern Cape is my favorite .... good friends and good hunting is hard to beat. Thanks for the info!
