We have moved the date of the show from the usual July to March. We really liked the new location in Roundrock, TX and are using it again this year. Here's the new show info:
http://www.angelfire.com/texasknifeshow/index.html I've volunteered to do a cable damascus forging demo, a parkerizing demo and possibly a tanto heat treating demo if I can get a couple tanto blades ready for HT by then.
Last one we had the Cutting Association guys do a demo. Those are great fun to watch. It's always impressive to see someone cut 3" thick free hanging rope. I haven't heard if they are going to have the cutting demos again this year.
We are also trying to get a couple volunteers for doing a basic knife forging demo. So far, we have 35 makers confirmed for tables with several great mastersmiths included in the lineup. Hopefully we'll get another dozen by the end of February. I still have some VIP free passes left. If someone from GBO is intrested in attending, pm me and I'll mail you out a couple passes.
