Which scope for my Ml ?

I booked a hunt in Ms for next Dec. and I need to scope my old T/C black diamond. I'v narrowed it to two. Which would you pick and WHY ? Nikon 3x9x40 or Nikon 4x40. I doubht that I would shoot over 150 yds ,probably much closer.
    What do you use on your Ml's ? I'm going to order next week. Thanks

You should look at both of them, then make a decision which one you like the best and which one will fill your optic needs. What works for me might not work for you. Some guys like fixed power scopes some variable. But it really rests with what you like.

Narrow it down to three or four! Lots of time between now and then.

How much are spending for the scope-only?

I would opt for the 3x9 40  It could and probably will find its way to other guns over the years. I have a 2x7 32 and a 3x9 40 in Nikon both are great!

I'll go the other side and say the Nikon 4x.  I used it use 3-9's on everything, then I realized that I never moved them off of 4x or 6x.  So now I go for simple and used fixed powers.  I've got a Nikon 4x Buckmasters on an Omega and like it very much.  I also have a 4x Sightron on a Black Diamond, and a 4.75 Weaver Grand Slam on a Knight Disc Elite.  Absolutely love them all.  I'm thinking of getting another Omega and putting a 6x on it, just for a little extra power for the longer shots (well, not really, I just want another one).   ;)  One thing, either get a scope protector or put some tape on the scope to protect it from the blow by of the primer.
