Barrel attachment and changing
« on: March 01, 2007, 03:41:17 PM »
Has anyone tried to take a barrel lug from another barrel and pot it on the bottom of a new one.  I have come across an old topper 12ga barrel and I am thinking of getting it for a stubbing project. Seems Midway has a .375 barrel for under $100 and it might make a better 38-55 barrel than the over-sized ones we get from the factory.

(forgot in the first post)   How clean is a heli-arc weld??  Can is be used on a lug set from one barrel and put onto another?? or is stubbing the way to go...

Not what you're asking, but to me the 30-30 barrel re-bored is the best way to 38-55 or 375 Win.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!
