Walther P99C / S&W908S / Springfield XD9
« on: February 19, 2007, 04:21:41 PM »
I have narrowed it down to one of these three. I had been really leaning toward the Walther, but I have now handled the other two and they also fit me well. They are all in about the same price range and seem equally well made to me. Any perspectives - positive or negative, would be appreciated. Thanks.

Leatherstocking:  all three are excellent pistols with little difference between them.  The Walther and one of the S&Ws are nearly identical.  The XD is well rated.  Gun Tests Magazine ran a comparison of at least the Walther and a similar S&W - maybe their review can help.  HTH.  Mikey.

For carry, I'd go with that slim little single stack S&W 908S.  It's a budget version of the 3913, basically a bit less milling has been done on the outside, but it's the same gun.  It may weigh an ounce or two more, being alloy framed rather than polymer, but that slim gun will fit IWB carry a lot easier.
