first handi

I just bought my first handi in 25-06 and bought a nikon pro-staff scope for it. Bass pro sold me the rifle and scope but the rings are weaver med. and the eye peice won't clear the hammer.  Is there a set of rings that works best on these rifles?

I prefer the medium or high Leupold QWR rings...or the Warne quick release for my rifles.....Others use the Burris rings with the inserts...

Congrats on the new rifle...The 25-06 is one of the better barrels available

I have a 3-9x40 Prostaff mounted in low Warne quick release rings, you'll need to trim the tip of the hammer to do it tho. Medium Burris Signature Zees will work also.

No slipping Howard, just an optical anomaly!! :D Here's a closeup of the hammer clearance which there isn't much, but enough, it's kind of deceiving cuz the extension top is open which allows a bit of clearance that can't be seen from a profile view.

I have the Weaver high rings, they'll give you 0.16 inch more clearance than the Weaver mediums. The Weaver X-high would give you 0.39 inch more clearance than the Weaver mediums.
