Export License to Ship Scopes to Canada H-E-L-P
« on: February 26, 2007, 11:04:09 AM »
Does anyone know of a supplier in the U.S. that has an export license to ship scopes to Canada? I tried the Optic Zone and Brono Sports with no luck. Looking for a Weaver fixed 15X for my 257.

Thanks

Mc ;D

Tim:

I know where to get it in Canada but it costs over $400.00CDN. The price in the states is about half that in $US. We really get shafted on scope prices up here so I used to get them from SWFA and Bruno but they won't ship to Canada anymore.  >:(

Unless things have changed since I did it several years ago no export license is required, just the Customs Forms and there are restrictions on shipping method. I've never been thru so much hassle in all my life. It cost me half the cost of one of the two scopes I shipped to get them there and then the first time they got there they were returned to me because I'd chosen a wrong method of shipment. So I had to go thru the entire procedure again. It took forever to get them there and cost me an arm and a leg.

That's why no one wants to do it. I sure would never do it again regardless of the circumstances.

In the past when I was buying a barska scope to find a place that shipped to Canada I had to go through thier online dealer list and try them one by one. In the end I did not save all that much money mybe 20$ when compared to the equivalent banner. But on a higher end scope it should actually pay more.

Our best hope right now is Cabela's Montreal store hopfully we can not get the full catalog sent to us at those prices.
