Cheek Rests
« on: February 27, 2007, 02:46:23 PM »
I'm curious if anyone is using a cheek rest to raise your face to the scope.  If so, what are you using?  Where did you get it?

I've got a couple of handis that need these.  I've found the older Garand rests but they aren't designed to raise your head.   Something leather would be nice but at this stage, I'll take virtually anything.

Do a google search on Accu-riser. They make a strap on model and a permanent mount model. Cabelas sells them. I bought both of mine from Gander Mountain. I've used both models for the sake of my 11 year old son. They work great and can be sanded down to fit. Will probably snag another permanent mount model for my son's 243 handi with synthetic youth stock.

ok heres my 2 cents on this. I had the same prob. First i found out about this on my skeet team two years ago. I wasnt elevated on the stock enough and i was missing birds. I went to sportsmans warehouse and picked up a deal with a bunch of different types/ sizes of foam with a neopream type cover. the foam sits on the stock and you pull the neopream over and your set. I have also taken an elastic shell holder, and put/ cut to fit foam in that and it has worked wonders for me. i think that is one of the main things with these little guns is to be as consistant as possible and if you dont rest your cheek the same every time it will show on the paper. Try it out. its worked on 2 of my nefs and one of my shotguns.
dont pee down my back and tell me its raining
if my guns were my children theyd be incredibly spoiled
the mountian has got its own way, pillgram

If this one doesn't to do the trick, I'll try the pad.  It's always nice to have options.
