Only Taurus I have ever owned is my model 66 357Mag revolver.  It has shot my handloads almost exclusively and some of them have been very heavy loads, though I don't have an exact count but probably at least 300.  Never had a hiccup out of it and the finish and trigger is better than a 586 Smith I used to have.

I only have experience with 2 and there won't be a third.  Customer service is beyond bad in my experience.

I have been reading various threads about Taurus and it boils down to some say the heck with them while others love them. I was wondering if the amount of shooting has anything to do with it. Do the Taurus haters shoot a lot and then have problems with their guns while the Taurus lovers only shoot occasionally and therefore don't encounter any problems?  ???

I have two, a PT99 and a 38spl, model 86 maybe, I don't remember.  The 9mm was my first semi-auto (15 years ago).  A friend bought one shortly after I purchased mine.  Both guns  had the "locking block" break within a couple months of each other with only a few hundred rounds through them.  The 38 is listed as a "target gun", I guess it gets that label because of the 6" barrel and adjustable sights, but the nomenclature has nothing to do with accuracy, my S&Ws and Rugers shoot circles around this "target gun". I probably get 2" groups at 7yards, others have tried it with the same results.  The guns don't look anywhere near as good as the S&Ws or Rugers either.  For the money they are probably adequate, as long as you aren't trusting your life to one.  I won't buy another.  When it comes to rifles it seems you can get a very accurate, reliable gun for little money(tikka, savage, H&R) but I don't think the same is true of handguns.
That S&W "agreement" that was spoken of earlier was made by a British company that owned Smith for a while during the Clinton regime, the company is now owned by an American firm that has no affiliation with the British Co.

While this is true the current owners have made no attempt to get the agreement voided while having an administration that is overall far more friendly to gun owners. The agreement is still in effect but just not being enforced. The next time a dumocrap is in office look for them to dust it off and bring it back. I'd NOT be so sure that S&W isn't still living up to their part of the agreement at least as much of it as they realisitically could. They've sure made no public announcments that they aren't.

I have a Raging bull in 454 Casuall and love it. No problems at all. Very accurate as well. Planning on getting the Bull" in 500 Smith next. My Brother has a lot of Taurus products as well with no problems at all. I think in the Manufacturing sector quality is a forgotten word long ago. Now it is all about the bottom line to keep stock Value up and the Shareholders Happy :(

Can't speak of the quality of their lifetime repair warranty, my pt 24/7 45 acp went in for repair in October,  still waiting for it to return, it went in because of a magazine release spring, should never have had to leave my dealer's premises, they wanted to "inspect it" themselves. Give me a jennings or any other saturday night special, at least it was not my total home protection that is tied up. Lifetime should be the length of time the warranty is good for, not how long it takes to get it back. :'( :'( :'(

i only have three but no problems yet. all were bought in the last three months. they look as good as smith's and the gaucho  has NO play at lock up, much tighter than my smiths or colts.   time will tell.
IF I HAD KNOWN I WAS GOING TO LIVE THIS LONG I WOULD HAVE TAKEN BETTER CARE OF MYSELF.
