Nope. I ordered a 338-06 from Fox Ridge. It won't be finished for another month. They say late May-early June. I chose to go that route cuz I  'needed' a different bore diameter. Right?  I have  357 mag, 357 Herrett, 35 Remington and 358 JDJ already. I probably will get the 35 Whelen as my next one. I have a custom '03 in teh bug 35 and have some real accurate loads with Sierra 225, Nosler 225BT, and Hornady 250's for it so it will give me much more than the 358JDJ-plus I already have the dies. I got the 338-06 just for something real different, and I had about 12 boxes of hornady 200gr bullts laying around. It was either sell them, or get a barrel. Not a hard choice!   Right now I'm a reloadin fool. I have 19 barrels for the TC's and I've been shooting a bunch. That leaves ton's of empty brass. I've been shootin MilSurp 223 and 308 and 30'06 with great success. Most are as accurate, sometime much more so, than the MilSurp rifles i shoot.  I shoot sub 1"308 with FNC ball, Winchester 223 55gr are alway inside the 1", and I can count on 1 1/2" min with teh '06. For some reason, teh 06 really kicks with some brands and they're only 150's!

Yepper--heavy bull with brake, base and rings. I have a 4x Leupold ready to go on. I even have the brass, dies, bullets ready. I still can't figure out TC. I called EA Brown for teh 444 katahdin--out of stock--they'd make me one up--they said 6-8wks--2 weeks later it arrived. I ordered the Fox Ridge 3rd wk i march--they 10-12 weeks and that's exactly what it's going to be. I called TC--tehy checked last week and said the order just went down to the shop. I guess I'm missing something with this. I have to believe that 338-06 is not a best seller, but it hsould be s special order only if it's listed on the site? It's the only knock against TC.  I think 3-5wk should be the standard, or something better than three months? On the other hand. The 444Katahdin is absolutely awesome.   It will bang a deer this winter. I ge to chrony it this week-end. I'll let you know what the loads do. I can compare 240 and 265 factory with my 240, 265, and 300gr with  max charges of 4198.

Are you using the 444 Katahdin as a pistol....or rifle?
I can't wait to hear about your 338-06.I just may order one do you think I could get 2400fps with 200's out of a 15" tube w/o a brake.

I have not shot it as a rifle yet. I have the stock, but it will probably never go on it. I am hoping for 2400+ but I'm not sure a 15" will get it done. The 33806JDJ is being published at 2650 with 180-200's, so.........?? I'll let you know! I am actually starting a chron'y databse this week end with my barrels and loads. I'm not going to publish it but I will be sharing some interesting data.
