I bought the new Ruger KM77VT MKII (otherwise known as the M77 Mark II Target) in .220 Swift.  It has a bull barrel, and all the metal is finished in target gray.  It has a Super wide Beaver Tail Forgrip, and the target butt on the stock.  Free floated barrel, and I put a 6-24 by 60mm scope on it.  I have read nothing but good things about this weapon, and I discussed it with the gentlemen at teh gun shop.  They tried to convince me to get it in .22-250, but I am stubborn.  heh heh.  The trigger is crisp and breaks at 2 lbs.  The guy that sold it to me showed me his grouping target for the exact same rifle, and it was shooting .5 MOA at 100 yards right out of the box.  That is good enough for what I need it for.  Now if I could just find something to make my darn Mini 14 Ranch Rifle to shoot.  lol.

Sawgunner :  I have seen and handled the exact rifle in 22-250 and 25-06 both did better than I could I think you will be a happer gunner. :D   JIM

I don't think that there is much difference between the Swift and the .22-250.  However, there is a bunch more factory ammo available in the .22-250.

What were your reasons for going with the Swift?

Well, my family has always used the Swift and I have enjoyed their rifles alot.    I have always been fond of the .22-250 also, but the family is already set up for the  Swift as far as reloading goes.  Unfortunately, The Army doesn't pay me enough to have a house, yet, so I can't very well reload in my Apartment.  heh heh.  I will be using this rifle at the in-laws Ranch 99% of the time, and they shoot swifts, and that would be a pain being the only one their with a .22-250.  My final offer is that I may buy the same rifle in .22-250 in the future, so my future son will have a rifle when we both go hunting.  I have always had the Swift bug in me, and that was the main  reason for going with the .220.
