Don't tell my wife!
« on: March 03, 2007, 10:56:37 AM »
I just drove 30 miles in the aftermath of a blizzard on a  treacherous freeway to pick up my new .280 Rem Handi. Just finished cleaning and polishing the barrel and mounting a scope. Just have to wait for the 22"of snow to melt to get out and give 'er a try. Saw 5 cars in the ditch and the way up, and 6 more on the way back. I must be a Handi-holic. ;D

aldar....
This is off subject but not....
First, congrats!
I too have just finished putting my freshly cleaned and polished .280 back together and hung the glass...
I haven't loaded yet so I'm shopping for a box to push thru it...
I guess I'm going after the Win 140s Ballistic Tips with the Lubalux...I'll bet you've done some research before you bought yours'...
I'm just feelin' for a round of factory stuff...sounds like the Corelokts work pretty well too...got any others?
Good Luck ...I hope we both have shooters... ;D 8)

Sounds normal to me.You got it bad! ;D ;D only part I'm worried about is,you letting a mear 22 inches of snow keep you from shooting it.Heck I'd stick a target in the snow and shoot out the window if I had too  :-\ maybe I aint right?

Ken,
have'nt bought any factory rounds for the .280. Been reloading Hornady's 139gr SST's and bought a box of Sierra's 140gr sp. Gonna see which one I can get to shoot the best.
I did think about going out back behind the house and letting a few fly but it sounds like a big melt next week. I'll just reload some more rounds and wait.

I will  assume those two pills to have a reasonable history in a Handi....I should have a report on factory stuff tomorrow night! Thanks Sir!
