Ruger MK1 scope ?
« on: February 17, 2007, 10:00:48 AM »
I own a Ruger Mk1 that is approximently 38 years old and I would like to know what my options are for mounting a scope or red dot on this unit. Does it need to be drilled and tapped or is there a mount that will clamp on? Thanks

I have a Mark I that the previous owner had installed a clamp-on scope mount to.  the mount didn't come with the pistol when I bought it so I don't know who makes/made them.

I believe B Square make the clamp on mount.

I have a B-Square ramp on my MK1 that screwed into the rear site hole, and clamped to the front site with set screws. I mounted a red dot to it and it is a great shooter. A MK1 tapered barrel target.

There is also one called the SoLow mount that might work for you??, it says for the MKII & MKIII. I have never used one, but have heard good things about it.
