How does one go about turning 223 cases into a 17 rem?
Is it as simpls as running the 223 case in a 17 rem die then load as normal?

Not quite, but pretty close.  .17 Rem is actually a little shorter than .223 is, so you would run it through the dies, then trim, I would think.  Without trimming, I think you wind up with a .17-.223, which is longer.

Actually the 17 rem oal is longer than the 223 1.796 vs 1.760 for the 223 its the shoulder that is pushed back on the 17 .087 in. but you are pretty close, when I had a 17 rem I found it difficult to resize the 223 in 17rem as that is a vary small opening that you are squezing the extra brass into I just didnt give the caliber enough of my time as I sold it and havent looked back. :D   JIM

Wow, I had it backwards.  I apologize for not double checking everything before I opened my big mouth.
