« on: November 20, 2009, 11:22:57 AM »
Hi, anyone know if the Marlin 917vr plastic stock is stiff enough for bipod, what Marlin means by  "Fiberglass-filled synthetic stock" mentionned on their site  http://www.marlinfirearms.com/Firearms/17HMRMagnum/917Vr.asp

No real sure if it's strong enough.
I put one of those bi-pods that hook to the front sling post.
It worked fine.

I have a 917V also with the wood stock. I also have a Rock Mount 6'' to 9'' bipod on it. It shoots great. Well under an inch at 100 yards. Dale
