I have discovered a extra up side to buying H&R/NEF guns new , aside from the price , i now have a whole coffie can crammed full of Master padlocks that are all keyed alike . some day i will figger out what to do with them .
Still not sure what to do with the little metal things that they sent with them though .

Christmas tree ornaments? I guess you'd need a pretty stout tree for that?

Kinda what i was thinking or maybe small boat anchors , they work well for locking up the guns but how do you store something that is bent at a 45 in the middle , woln't fit any of my racks that way .

Hey,
When you do a trade, just throw them in the box. Kinda like one of those fruit cakes at Christmas!

Yep Stimpy I got a few of those things too. The locks must be worth nearly $10.00CDN each. I wish they would forget the locks and just make some upgrade to the rifle of some kind .

Mc
The locks are a gift from the good old US governmint , every new gun made or sold in the US has to come with a lock and even used guns sold by a FFL have to have them . last year i took 2 handguns to the pawn shop when i was running short of cash , they made me buy locks before they would let me leave the store with MY guns .
At $4 apeice no less .

I have a few of the locks too. I was thinking about donating them to the local 4H youth shooter program.

You can always have them re- keyed at a locksmith...and they are real tuff locks too...so spending a few dollars re-keying them is worth it if you want a dependable lock for a lot less than buying them..

I started to put one on my toolbox on my truck.
Then I checked and realized they are all the same key.
With that Marlin badge I decided maybe not.
I would hate for some other handi-holic to "borrow" a tool and "forget" to bring it back.

Hey Stimpy. Next time you go pick up your guns at the pawn shop bring a couple with you and you will not have to buy theirs. Or you could work out a deal and bring them all your locks and sell them insted of a gun. Lol.

Locks on a used gun is a new one to me. Never had that to happen or is it a Ohio thing. Just teasing.
