New Springfield Armory Enhanced Micro Pistol
« on: March 22, 2007, 02:35:58 PM »
Has anybody seen the cover of the latest American Rifleman with the picture and article about this new gun? It seems to be made on a modified 1911 platform and presently only in 9MM but looks like one really nice firearm. Designed primarily for CC.

tom - yeah, that does look nice.  Seems to do alright in the accuracy department too, for a short barrel.  I would agree that it is primarily designed for cc.  Mikey.

Tho small, I believe the unloaded weight is 28ozs. I find weight to be as big a factor as size in a CCW.

Yup, nice pistol.  I think they make one or similar to it in 45.  My last Concealed Carry License instructor had one.  They handle nice, but I'm still partial to the Kimber Ultra Carry.

If the price out the door could be dropped below its current $920+tax, I'd be more interested.  While I'd very much like a compact 9mm based on a shrunken 1911 platform, there are other reliable, accurate, compact platforms available in 9mm for a lot less money.

Of course, if I hadn't just finished buying all new softball gear for my daughter, maybe I could afford to buy an EMP. :(
