I am notorious for my sparkling clarity
What I was trying to say was that when I viewed the Nosler data in the link, the max charges appeared to be light when 296 is used as compared to three other sources that I have.
Two of my sources are loading manuals with the third being John Taffin Data. These are with Hornady & Sierra jacketed bullets only. The jacketed bullets listed in my data are 240gr instead of 250gr like the Nosler bullet, but I have data for a 265gr XTP bullet that still exceeds what Nosler recommends for their 250gr when using 296.
It just gave me a start when I saw the max charges as listed by Nosler. It is almost like my starting loads in grains of 296 are heavier than their max loads listed!
I was trying to come up with a reason for this and it seems that it may be because of the Nosler bullet it's self. This bullet cant be off that far can it? the diameter is listed, but the bullets oal & seating depth are unknown to me.
