SASS rules question?
« on: May 11, 2003, 05:41:16 PM »
A pard at the Hangin' had a slight malfunction today. His '51 .38 conversion had the wedge work loose and at the 2nd shot out of the gun, the barrel went downrange. If the barrel hits the plate, does it count as a hit?

Pard, I have never witnessed that one, but I do believe that is a big miss along with whatever wasn't shot too. My answer would be no that is not a hit any more than a shot gun wad hitting a target, but no BBs noticed. Things like that.
What has me curious is about what happened to the gun. Was it found that he had set the wedge and the barrel was all the way at the frame or hung up. Did he have the little spring tab on the wedge locked and does that conversion have the screw that holds the wedge on the left side from coming out? Just curious. Glad no one was injured, except the shooters score.
