New Mossberg .30-30 Lever Action For 2008 ?

I ran across a thread elsewhere, that Mossberg's introducing a new .30-30 lever-action carbine at the SHOT Show this year - the Model 464.

Unlike the older, Marlin-look-alike Model 472's, the new introduction is supposed to be a top ejector. It was described as having a side loading gate & tube mag, 6lbs & change weight, & 38 1/4" LOA.

The vague description sounds a little bit like a model 94....

Mayhaps, Mossberg's paying attention to all the lamentations about the passing of Winchester's M94, and figures they might as well cash in on the cravings.  I dunno.

 Yeah! Thats the same thinking I had thought when I saw the same article in one of my hunting mag.who ever bought the rights to the 94 are going to make them for Mossberg.Thats my guess.

looks pretty awesome to me... personally I prefer the traditional look over the marlin look, so If my Winnie 94 ever gives up, this sure will be a nice alternative :-)

Appears to be basically a Winchester 94 action with an "easier to machine" round bolt.  Alas, beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.
