I would like to reload the 300 rem short ultra mag, and i would like to use one bullet weight , to hunt elk, moose, and mule deer. I was leaning towards, Swift A frame 165gr, or 180gr.. what are your favarite selections??? thanks for your input,, bruce..

I would try the partitions or maybe a Fail safe for the elk/moose part but I would use 180's instead, but for the mule deer try Scirroco's 165's.

The 165 is in my opinion close to the all round bullet for the 30's. Some would call it a bit light for moose, but in a premium of the Nosler Partitions quality, you won't have a problem, if you do your part. It will drop the others just as smartly.

If I was going to go reload a magnum 30 I would go with the 180 gr bullet. If it was a non magnum I might use the 165. Just my thoughts. :biggun:

I agree with John Cannuck on this one... a 165 grain Nosler Partition Bullet, with a ballistic coefficient of .410, would do the job on all the game animals you mentioned as long as you did a reasonable job of placing the bullet.
