hawkenman,

The Dyno-Core has been around for a couple years, at least (notice the 2004-05 trademark copyright in the ad copy). They are marketed and possibly even made by the makers of MDM-Muzzleloaders (Millennium Designed Muzzleloaders). I do see thay have some new graphics and ad material on their site. They are calling the new bullet Dyno-Core Magnum, but it looks exactly like it did a few years ago. Nothing more that a hollowed out Maxi-Ball with a plastic skirt, tip, and some lube. The only thing that might be new is the fiber expansion boot (gas check).

These bullets may shoot good on paper, but I wont use any exploding bullet on ANY big game (including Whitetails). I have seen what a exploding PowerBelt will do (or NOT DO) to an elk shot at 28 yards by my hunting buddy. It is a long story, but has a very sad ending. IMHO this bullet design is a very bad idea, and I wouldn't shoot anything bigger than a coyote with it. Sure it might knock you game down by energy dump alone, but will it keep it down for good? My buddies Elk dropped like a rock...got up...stumbled...got back up...ran for 3/4 mile...bugled to his harem of cows...ran off into the sunset with them...never to be seen again. We tracked and searched for two days, that elk wasn't even on the same mountain. >:(

I don't normally like to knock a product I have never tried, but this design IMO is just a gimmick trying to fill a niche` that is not needed. I would hunt with a PowerBelt first, and I would never hunt with a PowerBelt, if that tells you anything. I also checked their price, $13 for 8 bullets, then tack on shipping to that. Good luck!

If you want a good conical that kills big game dead, get No Excuses or Bullshop in pure lead. Pure lead is sticky and stays together and expands well, it don't need to be hollowed out to work. ;)

$13 for 8 rounds.  HOLY COW, them's some expensive bullets.  I can buy ammo for my .338 cheaper than that!!!!!!

Busta,

I agree I would never use a bullet that "denonates" on impact.  I am a penetration man myself, but I suppose some guys like to expend thier energy a little prematurely.  :)
