If you haven't partterned you shotgun yet or just want to practice....Here is a target for ya.

Right click on the turkey neck and print that image as your target.  If you print the whole page, the image is too small and it prints as 2 pages.  If you just click on the turkey neck and print that it comes out pretty close to the right size, I think just a bit bigger.  I colored the carruncles red on mine...I will scan and save it to make for easy printing next time.

Cookieman,

Yes this is what is planned for the family today. We are going to pattern the Toppers and Pardners for turkey season. Mainly thought it's for practice for the wife and kids on set-up and seeing where they are shooting. The wife is very excited about turkey hunting this year. The kids will be using 410 bore shotgun so it's going to be very important that I  figure out the range and limitation of this bore. If it doesn’t work  out I  will see if they  are able to shoot the 20 guage  or they will not be turkey hunting this year.

Hopefully will have range report completed tomorrow on new Pardner youth with screw in chokes. It's a keeper! ;) I have to do homework on how to post pictures so I can showoff how well she shoots.

Frogman what kind of shells are you using in the 410 for turkeys?

holahead,

The kids are use 2 1/2" reloads. I load them will #6 ex-hard shot. The best we can do is about 12 yards. I even reloaded with buffering and they were worse then the ones with out it. The surprise was the 20 guage reloades for the wife. I added buffering to the reduced loads of 7/8 oz. and her TDC with Ex Full choke was throwing Turkey killing pattern at 30 yards.

Froghunter.

PS: This week the kids and I will be trying Remington 3" in 7 1/2 shot.

Thanks Frogman My son wants to try for a turkey with his 410 that his great grandfather gave him. I have got him some Remington 3" & 1/2 to try also. I think they will work as long as we can get the turkey close. We are going to start doing a lot of practice first and see what will work and at what distance.
