Anyone have one of the new Springfield EMP's
« on: March 25, 2007, 12:56:10 AM »
I am very curious about the new toy. I have had just about every combination of 1911 I can imagine, especially officer model. I have a preference for carrying the smaller 1911's as I only stand 5'9." Looking at this new gun it seems very sweet, holding 9+1 rounds of 9mm or 40cal in a sub officers single stack. Anybody actually have one or shoot one.

thanks
Doc

PS the outlinded 1911 behind the emp is the officer size

Yep picked up one last weekend and shot it today.  I like it! I only shot 50 rounds out of it today.  No problems with feeding.  Very accurate.  I also shot my Kimber Pro Raptor and the S&W 642 today.  Shooting double action only sure was different.
I was shooting  Indepence  115 grns out of the 9mm and the same brand for 38 specials.  I shot Winchester 185 FMJ out of the .45.
I hope to order some more magazines soon for the EMP - it will be my summer concealed carry and sometimes the  642.  The Kimber will be my Fall - early Spring carry piece.
